Professional Experience

Edward (Ed) Gross started the law firm that eventually became Gross, Romanick, Dean & DeSimone, P.C. immediately after graduating from law school in 1980. Early in his career, Ed developed a strong reputation as an aggressive litigator, trying hundreds of civil and criminal cases throughout the various courts of the region. Meanwhile, Ed developed an active commercial landlord practice and a comprehensive transactional business practice, assisting clients with entity formation, sales and acquisitions, leasing, employment matters, partnership disputes, construction disputes, evictions, and debt collection. Ed’s legal experience inside and outside of the courtroom is extensive and substantial, and is largely unparalleled by his competitors.

Lecturer

Ed moderates and presents an annual seminar on the collection of debts and money judgments sponsored by the DC Bar Association. He has been on the panel of numerous seminars given by IREM Property Management Association, Certified Public Accountant of Northern Virginia, National Business Institute, and the Associated Builders & Contractors. In addition, many companies have received in-house seminars on topics such as Landlord/Tenant issues, managing account receivables, mechanic’s liens, and current trends in the law.

Representative Transactions & Cases

Edward has a very extensive history of representing clients in many types of business transactions and court cases. He has litigated complex multi-million dollar legal disputes, has handled multi-million dollar business acquisitions, and has negotiated multi-million dollar commercial leases. At the same time, Ed takes pleasure in assisting clients with more modest lawsuits and transactions, and as a small business owner himself, is very sensitive to needs of smaller businesses.

Personal History

Ed is married and has two daughters. Ed was born in Czechoslovakia and immigrated to the U.S. at age 2. He is a recognized visual artist. He has traveled extensively through the Middle East, Europe, Central and South America.
